Today's activity is an old classic, Origami. The goal of this art is to create a representation of an object using geometric folds and crease patterns preferably without the use of gluing or cutting the paper, and using only one piece of paper.
Remember that one Simpsons episode where they went to Japan because they were at the airport waiting for free tickets? Was that what they were doing? Point is, we got the idea for today's activity from the scene where Homer is showing Lisa a part of Japanese culture and creates an origami crane from their last Yen.
"It's probably the simplest thing you can do; children can do it."
Materials:
-Square piece of paper
Pros:
-Learn Japanese culture
Cons:
-Very very difficult
Basically, Mike was trying to make an origami wolf but in the end, failed miserably. Check back in a day or two when he actually succeeds and redeems himself.

Hobby 2: Making a Pillow
Today's activity is the wonderful art of pillow making. A pillow is a large cushion support for the head, usually used while sleeping in a bed. Making a personalized pillow will make a great gift for your girlfriend, or the Dempsey in your life.
Birju burst through the door waving his entry application, shouting, "I did it boys! I entered the community center sewing competition!" Seeing the confused look on our faces, Birju explained his plan for this week's hobby, sewing. For the previous four generations, Birju's family has sewn together a family quilt, and winning the competition would be a piece of cake. Unfortunately, Birju bailed out last minute by trying to convince us he had to "clean his mom's car in the middle of winter." Obviously a lie, we were still stuck in the competition. Patty suggested the easiest thing for us to put together is a small pillow. So here we go!
Materials:
-2 pieces of felt
-Poly-fil
-Needle and thread
Pros:
-Valentine's gift
-Impress Dempsey
-Own a one-of-a-kind pillow
Hopefully you can follow along and make your own masterpiece! Oh, and we placed second in the competition. We also found out Birju entered a contest meant for young children...

Hobby 1: Beatboxin
Today's activity was America's great pastime, beatboxing. For those out there who don't know, beatboxing is a form of vocal percussion which primarily involves the art of producing drum beats, rhythm, and musical sounds using one's mouth, lips, tongue, voice, and more.
We went out to Taco Bell to get our dinner when we came across two kids viciously dropping some beats. Birju threated them that he could out beat box them any day of the week. Problem was that Birju nor any of us knew how. Also, the fact that Birju was sick and couldn't make a single noise. Birju put up a good battle but, in the end, he failed miserably, and we lost the respect of those two kids and the workers at Taco Bell :(. We came back to Mike's house and decided that we wanted to learn to drop some beats like the pros. Rushing to youtube, we came across a man named "Jaxster" and watched all 7 lessons that were available and eventually, we became the masters of beats.
Birju was our metronome because thats all he was capable of.
Mike was our rhythm.
Jo was our lead.
Materials:
-Mouth
-Glass of water
-Your own creativity
Pros:
-Makes you look cool in front of your friends
-Impress Birju
-Picking up the ladies
The way we learned was very simple, we went to youtube and typed in "Learn how to beat box". We came across an appealing video about the simple techniques for breathing and such, and progressively, we got to learn new techniques and sounds. Mr. Jaxster was a very good teacher. Also, he is Asian. So basically, that could be nothing but good.

Have fun guys and enjoy!
